Risk Management is also a key core component of Sinopia's investment philosophy and process. On an ongoing basis, Sinopia's investment process incorporates the constant monitoring of portfolio exposures, absolute or relative risk levels, as well as a strict control of operational risk. All teams contribute to risk assessment: from asset allocation analysis and decision (Research and Asset Management) to implementation (Asset Management and Trading) and controls (Asset Management, Middle Office, and Risk Controls).
Research is key to risk monitoring. The extensive use of quantitative tools allows SINOPIA to identify sources of expected value and to understand and control the sources of portfolio risk. Finally, managing and assessing risk during the optimisation step of the process is an important part of the performance.
The Risk Management team directly reports to the Global Chief Executive Officer and the Global Chief Operating Officer. This dedicated team is responsible for independent risk control tasks and missions. Its scope includes Internal Audit & Control, Market Risk Management and Compliance. The Market Risk Management team is independent from Asset Management and is in charge of defining and implementing market risk control over all funds or managed accounts.
