Markets In Financial Instruments Directive ("MIFID")

A set of new financial regulations called MiFID (Markets in Financial Instruments Directive) came into force across the European Economic Area (EEA) as of the 1st of November 2007.

What is MIFID ?

The Markets in Financial Instruments Directive ("MiFID"), a set of new regulations mandated by the European Commission, is intended to provide additional protection to investors and consumers of investment services.

The European Economic Area consist of the EU Member States plus Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein. It does not include Switzerland or Monaco.
